Postpartum Body Relief
Body trauma from birth
Estrogen levels after childbirth remain at the same high level as pregnancy, resulting in what is called estrogen dominance. This dominance (because of lower progesterone) contributes to low thyroid function.
This hormone imbalance can cause anything from mood disorders to adrenal fatigue, headaches and insomnia.
This modality can help ease your tight muscles and regulate your hormones. Hormone imbalance is also a major contributor to mastitis and low milk supply.
Massage helps regulate stress hormones and promotes endorphins. Having more balanced hormones can help new mothers avoid postpartum mood fluctuations.
You can expect a variety of massage therapeutic techniques. Massages will consist of rebalancing the muscles after being stretched to more than three times their natural size.
In home massage is helpful right after birth, studio visits are also available.
It’s very common for women to feel (at any time after their pregnancy):
abdominal and/or pelvic pains
scar numbness and pain
pain at the pubic bone
significant urinary changes
hardness of the belly, bloating, or swelling
abdominal separation (diastasis)
A session includes a full intake to understand how your belly and pelvis are needing support during your recovery.
